Patuxent River Appreciation Days Events

October 6 and 7, 2012

The 2012  festival will take place on October 6th and 7th. The festival runs from 10am-5pm and includes the "Green Village" on Saturday and Sunday which features scores of groups that celebrate the river in a wide vairety of ways, children’s activities including pony rides (for a fee), an arts and crafts show and food court, musical performances, an open house at the Calvert Marine Museum,and a Parade at 2:00 on Sunday. Free harbor cruises will be offered on board 2 historic vessels: the 112 year old bugeye, Wm. B. Tennison, the sailing skipjack the Nathan of Dorchester.

Food will be located in the parking lot next to the Arts and Crafts vendors. We will have:

Solomons Optimist-funnel cakes, BBQ Beef, stuffed ham, hot dogs
American Legion-Pit Beed, hamburger, cheesebugers
Maggie Moo-ice cream and sorbet
Calvert Kettle Corn
Calvert Optimist-burgers, chicken breast sandwiches, cheese steak, grilled cheese
Prince Frederick Rotary-Knockworts, french fries, clam strips, popcorn shrimp, BBQ, Oyster Sandwiches
Calvert Sportsman will be providing beer.

 

Admission to the event is free; financial support is given by Calvert County Government, a donation from GenOn Eastern and monies brought in by the food court and craft show booth fees.
Excess funds are returned to the community in the form of grants.
